Dr Terence Cassar
Control, Alt, Delete: Privacy and the right to be forgotten: placing personal data on an immutable blockchain and the GDPR implications.
Dr Terence Cassar is a Senior Associate at GTG Advocates. He specialises on TMT, IP, blockchain & cryptocurrencies, FinTech, data protection, gaming & betting, e-commerce and cybercrime. He is a frequent headline speaker on technology laws in Malta, particularly on blockchain, IP and data protection. He is a lecturer on Innovative Technology Arrangements and Services to prospective VFA Agents. He has been a key expert on the Malta IP Hub, an initiative to amend local IP laws, and has represented various clients before the EUIPO. He has also led the GDPR compliance of various organisations and was one of the first Maltese lawyers to advise on crypto-assets. He is currently advising various major exchanges in relation to licensing under the Virtual Financial Assets Act. Dr Cassar holds a Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta and is in the process of being awarded an LLM in Internet Law & Policy by the University of Strathclyde.

Dr Christian Ellul – completed his Doctorate in Law in 2005 furthering his studies with an Adv. LL.M. in International Taxation from the University of Leiden, in the Netherlands. Christian has worked as a tax advisor for a Big 4 Audit firm in Malta as well as reputable local Corporate Service provider. In 2009 Christian together with Karl Schranz was one of the founding members of another a Corporate Services Provider in Malta, before leaving to set up E&S Consultancy in 2010. Christian currently sits on the board of all of the companies within the E&S Group and his competences include Malta direct and indirect taxation, international tax structuring, Taxation of Tokens, Cryptocurrencies, ICOs, trusts, corporate and company law and related legal advice.

Howard Poston is a cyber and blockchain security researcher. He developed and teaches the Certified Blockchain Security Professional (CBSP) course and certification exam (offered internationally via Pearson). Howard consults with multiple different organizations, providing content development, training, and consulting services in the blockchain and cyber security domains.
