In 2021, Lagos State passed 2 new laws: the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority Law 2021 and the Responsible Gaming Regulations 2021.
This will require all Lagos State licensed operators to provide staff with the below training from an accredited provider on a regular basis that:
- Certifies their key employees with training on Responsible Gaming and Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing on an annual basis
- Ensures all employees – staff, agents and affiliates – undertake Responsible Gaming training within 3 months of commencing employment
All staff training records must be submitted to the authority on a yearly basis by the operators (including names, dates of training and the nature of training).
