WHY TAKE THIS COURSE
Learn about this exclusive functionality, not present in most other protocols
The Game-to-System (G2S) protocol includes functionality that is not present in most other protocols. This functionality includes the Player User Interface (PUI) – technology that enables pop-up windows on the main screen of Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs). The core functionality for managing PUI windows is found in the G2S mediaDisplay class.
Supporting this technology are two other standards from the Gaming Standards Association (GSA): the EGM Media Display Interface (EMDI), which enables direct communications between content running in PUI windows and the EGM, and the Player User Interface Standard, which defines the minimum browser support required for PUI implementations as well as a series of standard templates for PUI windows.
The G2S mediaDisplay class as well as its supporting standards are optional. Operator preference will determine when they need to be included in an EGM.
This course introduces students to the Media Display class and its supporting standards – the EGM Media Display Interface and the Player User Interface Standard. Students will learn their purpose and how they are intended to be used.
- Be familiar with the mediaDisplay class within G2S
- Understand how content can use EMDI to communicate directly to the EGM
- Be familiar with the browser requirements within the PUI standard
- Understand how content is loaded into PUI windows and activated
- Understand the functionality available within EMDI
- Understand the various templates defined within the PUI standard
