Gaming operators are racing to expand US operations following last week’s Supreme Court ruling.
William Hill is seen by many as a front runner. “We’re going to get ready to open for business as soon as possible,” said US Chief Exec Joe Asher. He estimates that $10 billion is bet on sports annually in New Jersey, represent a $500-million business in that state alone.
Other operators and suppliers including Scientific Games, IGT and Paddy Power Betfair are also considered ahead of the pack. But hundreds more will be eyeing the opportunity of US Sportsbetting and seeking to expand operations in the coming months.
