What’s all this hype?
By now everyone in Malta has heard of the iGaming industry. It’s impossible to live here and not come across it. Whether it’s a friend from the industry telling you how great it is, a new neighbour who has relocated to the island for an iGaming job, or another news report of a company breaking revenue records, it’s a subject that crops up in conversation all the time.
All this should not really come as much of a surprise. After all, Malta is now home to over 300 iGaming companies and the industry employs a workforce of around 10,000. Our country’s status as the EU’s leading iGaming jurisdiction has prompted companies from all over Europe to relocate here and it’s a trend that’s only set to continue.
However, for job seekers looking to build a career in iGaming, all this opportunity can be a bit bewildering. If you’re looking to join an industry that sits at the forefront of e-commerce and online technology and is constantly changing, it can be difficult to know where to start from.
Choose the iGaming Career you want
The first thing to consider is what type of career in iGaming is best for you. Now, just because iGaming is relatively new, it does not mean you’ll have to drop everything you learnt in your previous studies or jobs and start over. iGaming companies are made up of many departments covering all areas from marketing and customer service through to finance and technology, so there’s plenty of options to take what you’ve learnt and apply it in a new environment.
Get the iGaming Job you want
Once you’ve decided on a career path that’s right for you, it’s worth considering how to take that initial step on the ladder with your first job. Once again, there’s a lot of flexibility here and there’s a range of areas at which you can enter the industry, whatever your level of experience – graduate, senior management, or anywhere in between. It’s just a question of conducting the research, deciding on your best plan before taking that first step, and then simply going for it. Like anything else; the more you put in, the more you’ll get out of it.
