This privacy notice tells you what to expect when iGaming Academy (IGA, Data Controller) collects personal information about you, in this case, static or moving imagery via CCTV or surveillance systems as you pass in front and through the iGaming Academy building.
iGaming Academy is committed to protecting your personal information, safety and security when you use iGaming Academy services. We are legally obliged to use your information in line with all applicable laws concerning the protection of personal data, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What personal data IGA collects
When you pass by or through the iGaming Academy building, IGA may collect static or moving imagery via CCTV or surveillance systems.
Why IGA needs it
There are legitimate interests for collecting and using CCTV/surveillance imagery. iGaming Academy may use CCTV/surveillance imagery for several purposes including but not limited to the following:
- To maintain the safety and security of the iGaming Academy staff and stakeholders
- For investigative purposes or as evidence to support any formal follow-up to iGaming Academy incidents
- In response to a subject access request
CCTV and surveillance imagery may be handled and used by the following recipients to maintain a safe, secure and efficient operation:
- iGaming Academy Managing Director
- Police/security services
- Authorised IGA service providers
IGA will keep your information within iGaming Academy and their trusted third parties except where disclosure is required by law, for example to government bodies, law enforcement agencies or in response to a subject access request.
How long IGA keeps personal data
Under normal circumstances your information could be retained for up to 7 calendar days after which point it will be deleted. Imagery required for investigative or evidential purposes may be retained beyond 7 days and is securely disposed of upon completion/conclusion of the purpose for which it has been retained.
Imagery is retained in a secure environment and is only accessible by authorised personnel who have a legitimate reason to do so.
Your data rights
As an individual, you may exercise your right to access your personal data held about you by IGA by submitting your request in writing.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you will have the right to, where appropriate, to request to rectify your personal data or have it deleted (where the continued use of that data cannot be justified). You can also object to the processing of your personal data. However, please note that IGA may continue to retain, or otherwise use your personal information thereafter where we have a legitimate interest or a legal or contractual obligation to do so.
In the event that you wish to exercise your rights or complain about how IGA has handled your personal data, please contact IGA DPO, in writing, at dpo@igacademy.com or at St George’s Business Complex, Ground Floor, Elija Zammit Street, St.Julians, STJ 3151, Malta. IGA DPO will then look into your complaint and work with you to resolve the matter.
Governing law
This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Malta and relevant EU legislation. In the event of any conflict between this Policy and applicable laws and regulations, the latter shall prevail.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
IGA may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in response to changing legal, technical and/or business development. If there are any changes to this Privacy Policy, IGA will replace this page with an updated version.
